Today, Tuesday June the 16th at 10am at the Nou Municipal Cornellà the farewell match between coaches, tutors and staff members of WOSPAC and the boys of the SOCCER Stages program took place.
An expected match that has put an end to a great year, just as Didac “Didi” Rodriguez, SOCCER Manager, said. “We really wanted to play this game, we have been waiting all the year. It has been a fantastic year living every day with the guys from the residence and also doubly special because today were the last moments some of them shared with us, because next season they will not continue in our program.”
The match ended with a tight result and a lot of goals, a total of 5-4 for the white team, the team of tutors and coaches of WOSPAC. The young players of the SOCCER Stages program, have stood up at all times and despite going behind in the score at all stages of the game, they have not given up and have shown that all the physical preparation and training bear fruit. On two occasions, they have been able to answer with a goal in the next play after conceding one.
Some controversial plays, dubious offside situations, discussed penalties, many goals, great saves by the goalkeepers, some surprises … but above all lots of laughter, fun and good vibes that showed the complicity, the companionship and the feeling among players and technical staff. Definitely a great experience we will repeat soon.
After the match, “Didi” was very happy with the experience and launched a challenge for next year: “We have enjoyed a lot, and although it was hard, we managed to win the game by 5 to 4. A perfect excuse to the rematch next year. Guys we invite you to try again next year!”
